In Karachi, millions of rupees have reportedly been embezzled from the Legend Trust funds, which were created to support artists in Sindh. This serious financial fraud has led to a conflict between the Governor House and the Sindh Department of Culture. An official inquiry is now underway to investigate the matter.

Sources say that over 60 million rupees were withdrawn from a private bank account linked to the Legend Trust using fake documents. On October 13, the Governor House wrote a letter to the Department of Culture, demanding an investigation into the case.

Initial reports reveal that a fake letter from the Culture Department was used to issue a checkbook. Several checks were then used to withdraw the large amount without proper approval or oversight.

Governor Sindh, Kamran Tessori, stated that the Governor or Governor House has no authority over the financial matters of the Legend Trust. He explained that the Trust’s financial affairs are the responsibility of the Secretary of Culture, who handles all banking activities for the trust.
